The Laura Ashley Isadore range of Bathroom Tiles are currently on offer for a limited time period. This already popular range is on sale until 11th December where the prices will revert back to the usual website prices.
The isadore range, is a striking monochrome collection of ceramic wall tiles, with a delicate floral pattern that can be used in a number of different combinations.
In addition to these wall tiles, there is a contemporary black glass strip tile to combine a mixture of the patterns whether the white on white, the black on white, or the white on black.
In previous blogs we discussed PEI rating generally and then we looked more specifically at PEI 1 and PEI 2 ratings. As a reminder, the PEI rating is a scale relating to the abrasion resistance of glazed floor tiles. The PEI scale (Porcelain Enamel Institute) states clearly the areas that a particular tile is suitable for. The PEI rating we will look at in detail today, is PEI 3. This is the rating in the middle of the scale as the scale runs from PEI 1 which is for very light traffic to PEI 5 which is for heavy traffic. The PEI 3 rating is for light to moderate traffic. It can be used in any residential area, with the possible exception of some entries and kitchens if extremely heavy or abrasive traffic is anticipated. Examples of floor tiles that have a PEI rating of 3, are White Chess BCT03588, Dhaly Terracotta Floor CAN01990, Grosvenor Grey Tile CANIMPGRAF, Lichfield Beige Floor CAN42162, Lichfield Grey Floor CAN42179, Stoneface Black Floor BCT03380.
Unfortunately we have to advise that 3 of the Wet by Hemingway Design range of ceramic wall tiles have been discontinued by the manufacturer.
The 3 ranges to go are Toothbrush, Flower and Scribble, other than being advised of this Tileclick have sold the current stock that we have and will not able to get any more from the manufacturer. This is dissapointing for us as these tile were hugely popular but we can only assume that their individuality and quirkiness didnt meet the general demand of the bristish publish for these ranges to be manufactured continually.
Mapei UK, manufacturer of tile grout and adhesive is extending its premises in Halesowen, near Birmingham. This is great news for mapei who are responding to its ever-increasing sales growth with a new extension that will double its its current production, warehouse and office capacity. Mapei UK are a subsidiary of the global Mapei group and they are manufacturing over 110 products in Halesowen.
The products currently produced include ready-mixed paste adhesives, coloured grouts, screeds and levelling compounds, these incorporate the companies top names such as keraquick, and ultracolor plus grout that are available from the Tileclick website.
Floor Tiles are put into categories based on their resistance to wear. In order to make sure that you get the best out of your tiles and to avoid the risk of premature wear, it is important to make sure the tiles chosen are for the correct application. The PEI 1 rating is for very low foot traffic that is walked on with bare feet only and for use in Ensuite bathrooms. An example of a tile which has a PEI 1 rating is the Black Chess Floor Tile BCT03595 from the Candy Floor Tile range. The next PEI rating up from PEI 1 is the PEI 2 rating. The PEI 2 rating is for light traffic, which needs to be walked on with only slippers or soft-soled shoes. There are currently no examples of tiles that we sell with this rating.
When choosing a grout for your floor or wall tiling scheme, you need to try and consider a few points! The most traditional way of grouting was to use white on the walls and grey on the floors. Although not necessarily adventurous this combination does make sense. The white grout on the walls helps to give a bright feel and shows the tiles off – which if like alot of people you have taken time in choosing your scheme you want to do.
A grout protector such as lithofin will help to prolong the white freshness of the grout on your walls for much longer and through many cleaning sessions keeping your tiles looking like new.

A common question when people are looking at buying floor tiles is are they slip resistant, or anti slip. We don’t sell any anti slip or slip resistant tiles, as the environment in which they are to be used always has an effect. We have some anti slip discs, and some tiles are more slip resistant than other – but with water on the tiles and your feet when you get out of a bath or shower, the slipping is more of an aquaplane effect.
Our standard delivery service will mean that your tiles will be with you within 3-5 working days. You will receive a telephone call to ‘book in’ the delivery, so that you can make sure that it will happen at a convenient time to you. This service is free on orders over £100 exc VAT, orders under £100 exc VAT will be charged at £30 plus VAT. The other delivery service TileClick offers is Express delivery, your tiles will be delivered within 2-3 working days if you choose this option. The price of this service is £15 when your order is over £100 exc VAT or £45 if you order is under £100 exc VAT.
