Sometimes the thought of selecting tiles for your bathroom or kitchen can be quite daunting. There are so many colours and sizes to choose from. Also tiles are not usually the type of thing that people change often, therefore you want to pick something that you will love and not get bored of too quickly. The great thing about tiles is they can dramatically enhance the look of a room without you necessarily needed to change everything else.
Most people choose either porcelain, ceramic or glass tiles. Ceramic are often favoured due to thier price and being relatively easy to cut. If your working to a budget, remember you don’t have to tile the whole room, simply do part of it or create an exciting splash back. It is important not to use to much colour as it will end up looking too busy. However in a kitchen it can be quite fun to use a bit of colour in a certain area, eg behind the oven. You could use a few different colours as long as they look good and compliment each other.
However in a bathroom, mainly people go for quite plain colours to make the room look bigger. Many people pick a white tile to keep the room fresh and sometimes use a patterned tile as well to add interest. A popular range of tiles to be use like this is the Isadore range by Laura Ashely, specifically the Isadore Floral White, for use with the Isadore Plain White.
